Spooky Silhouettes
These spooktacular shadows are perfect for Halloween, but they can also be modified to use different shapes and colors for any time of the year.
Each child will need two pieces of clear contact paper, a piece of black construction paper, and scraps of tissue paper. If doing this as a program in your library, you’ll also need tape (preferably masking or painter’s tape, but almost any will do), scissors, and something to write with.
If you want to make one that stands like the picture above, I used an empty tape core, but you could get even more creative with craft stick frames or anything else that helps it stand. If you have the budget for it, these work well as small silhouettes with battery-powered tea lights behind them.
